Impact & Legacy
More than an exhibition
Stories in Motion was created to give young artists more than a place to display their work. Through professional presentation, storytelling, public exhibition and international creative exchange, the project gave young people opportunities to have their creativity recognised, share the stories behind their work and experience the pride of seeing their art valued by others.
The physical exhibition ran throughout August 2026 at Deptford Lounge, London, while the International Creative Exchange extended the project to Toronto, Canada. The Online Gallery continues that journey, creating an ongoing public platform for the young artists and their work beyond the physical exhibition.
Voices from Stories in Motion
She is very shy and unsure of herself at times, so this has been a much-needed confidence boost.
Parent of an exhibiting student
I feel proud that my artwork was selected for the London exhibition and international showcase. This experience has given me another opportunity to share my ideas and creativity for people to appreciate.
Participating student
For our students at RAP, this has been a fantastic opportunity to see their art recognised and displayed publicly. I hope this achievement gives them the confidence to continue developing their creative talents.
Mrs Pandey, Art Teacher
Thank you so much for all your work on this project celebrating young artists. I was blown away by how many parents and teachers travelled such long distances so that their young people could showcase their art. It was wonderful to play a small part in encouraging so many young people on their creative journeys.
Cllr Heather Farnworth
Feedback from young artists, families, educators and supporters highlighted increased confidence and pride, the value of public recognition, and the importance of giving young people meaningful platforms for their creative voices.
